Bradley Robert Dawson, a 40-year-old computer programmer from Memphis, Tennessee, USA, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Fijian court for the murder of his wife, Christie Chen, during their honeymoon in July 2022. The couple was staying at the exclusive Turtle Island resort, an idyllic location that accommodates only 14 couples at a time, but which became the scene of this tragic event. The Fijian court ruled that Dawson must serve at least 18 years of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

A gruesome discovery and cremation on site (2/12)
The body of 36-year-old Christie Chen was discovered in the couple's hotel room, covered in blunt force trauma. According to hotel staff, the couple had been heard arguing the day before the grim discovery and had failed to appear for breakfast the following morning. The injuries were so severe that Chen's body could not be embalmed for repatriation to the United States, forcing her family to have her cremated at the hotel.
