Charmed: she just left us

Rebecca Balding, the iconic actress from  Charmed , has died

It was ovarian cancer that reportedly claimed the actress's life. Rebecca Balding first came to public attention in her role as Carol David in the series  Soap in 1978. She also appeared in the 1979 comedy  Makin'  It, playing Corky Crandall. Finally, it was the series  Charmed  that made her a  household name . In the series , as  Purebreak reminds us , Rebecca Balding played the role of Elise Rothman between 2002 and 2006. She was Phoebe Halliwell's boss. The two women shared a very close bond, almost like mother and daughter.

The actress had previously appeared in a completely different role in 1998, in the same series. She played Aunt Jackie.  Alyssa Milano  paid tribute to her on her Instagram account. The two women filmed many scenes together, creating many fond memories. The actress wrote:  "Rebecca Balding was not only a magnificent actress, she was also a wonderful woman. I have so many memories with Rebecca and her husband, dancing at parties. I am honored that our paths crossed. Rest in peace."
