Lilly writes: “George nervously told his mother he was fed up with this ‘smell game.’ He seemed stressed and said that because of her remarks, we weren’t intimate at all anymore, that I even refused to kiss him. His mother told him he had to be patient if he wanted to keep me close. It turns out that George’s father had always used this technique with her: making a woman smell bad so she would always stay with him. According to her, a woman had to remain faithful her whole life, feel too uncomfortable to cheat, be totally devoted, and always fresh and clean.”
So, Lilly’s stepmother was advising her son on how to manipulate me into staying with him, even revealing these unhealthy techniques used by her own father. Lilly was shocked and furious to learn that George was using these despicable methods. She concluded: “George is still unaware that I know everything. I want a divorce, but I also want revenge before we separate. I know many wouldn't consider this a serious reason for divorce, but I can't imagine spending my life with someone who uses such despicable methods on a woman who loves him with all her heart.”
